Artist Stan Herd creates masterpieces by using fields as his canvas. His latest work is a monumental 1.2-acre interpretation of Van Gogh’s 1889 Painting Olive Trees planted in Minneapolis. Van Gogh’s original hangs at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts.  The piece was commissioned by the Minneapolis Institute of Art . The museum commissioned Herd to do a crop-art interpretation of the painting for the museum’s centennial this year.
